Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for all Contractors personnel & equipment.
• Maintain contract standards.
• Overall control of all operations at rig and campsite.
• Plans, co-ordinates, supervise all drilling & maintenance work.
• Is signatory for all PTW on rig and campsite.
• Ensures that all necessary precautions are stated on the PTW are met and that work site has returned to safe status on completion.
• Issues change proposals.
• Initiate well control & kick drills.
• Initiates all other drills and exercises.
• Ensures stipulations of Well Programme are complied with.
• Participate in pre-spud meetings.
• Liaise with transport for rig moves & equipment movement.
• Compiling a concise handover book for his relief at crew change.

• Maintain contract standards.
• Plan & arrange availability as necessary of all tools, equipment & materials.
• Inspect all tools, equipment and materials from Client or third party before use.
• Well control equipment pressure tests.
• Control certification of all equipment on rig and camp.
• Rig inspections.
• Camp inspections.
• Post rig up or pre spud inspections.
• Control equipment movements to/from rig.
• Monitor rotating hours down hole equipment.
• Monitor & calculate ton miles & plan & execute cut & slip programme.
• Monitor issue and consumption of consumables.
• Monitor inspection intervals for rig equipment.
• Issues material requisitions.

• Overall responsible for HSE discipline on the rig & campsite & records, comments and initiates actions.
• Hold toolbox talks for non-routine work.
• Chair regular rig safety meetings.
• Monitor stock and issue of PPE.
• Acts as team leader in accident / incident investigations.
• Monitor all HSE matters in co-ordination with the Safety Officer.
• Responsible for the PTW system and signer for the PTW forms.
• Co-ordinator of the Drilling Emergency Response Team.
• Ensure compliance with management of the Environmental plan (Papua New Guinea Regulations).

Invoicing Requirements
• Monitors “hours/days in use” of additional equip. & Tools.
• Ensure relevant invoice back-up documentation is signed by Client Rep.
• e.g. operating/stand by hours additional equipment & send to Base Office.

• Fluent in speech and writing in the English Language
• Technical drilling school or Trade School Education (or comparable knowledge).
• Good knowledge in all relevant Drilling techniques, equipment and safety procedures
• Driller Training Course.
• IWCF BOP (Well Control) Course.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as Night Toolpusher
• Periodical medical examinations
